Running Prodrisk with a load#
This is an incomplete guide containing instructions for how a load can be added in Prodrisk. For more information, we refer to LTM documentation.
Add a load#
To add a load, enter the program LTM.exe and choose datamod and Fastkon. Now we can see all available load responsibility contracts. If there is already one, this can be modified, and if there is none, typing a choosen contract name number will let you create a load responsibility contract.
The load responsibility contract must have an yearly energy consume [GWh], a yearly power profile and a weekly power profile. Here, a standard profile can be chosen among a selection of profiles, or a new can be made. The yearly profile usually has a weekly resolution, and the weekly profile has a hourly resolution.
Now it is time to adjust the transmission capacity.
Change the transmission capacity#
Normally, Prodrisk assumes open transmission lines, which means that all produced power will be sold to the current price and that any load responsibility can be met using power produced elsewhere. If we want to simulate how this watercourse meets a load responsibility we want to change the transmission capacity.
To chagne the transmission capacity, use the program “LTM.exe” and choose datamod and Prefdat. Here we can modify the transmission capacities for purchace an sale of power, one after the other. Choose the capacity you want to modify:
We need to modify the capacity for both watervalue calculation and for simulation, with the options mv and ms. To ensure that the transmission capacities are binding, they should be related to the total production for the system. This level is found through calibration.
The same procedure must be done for all transmission capacity types: purchase, sale and overflood. For rationing, there is no such transmission capacity.
