Production and usage costs

This functionality allows the user to set time-dependent production costs per plant and usage costs per pump in the model. The new attributes production cost and usage cost can be given with up to hourly resolution, but will be converted to price period resolution within the Prodrisk core. The time series are interpreted by Prodrisk in three different ways, controlled by the attributes production cost and usage cost respectively:

Note that including production or usage costs in the model can lead to negative margins for the respective plant or pump even with a positive spot price. Due to methodological limitations of the Prodrisk model, plants require seperate handling in time steps with negative margins. This is further described in negative_margins, and is covered under the same license as production and usage costs.
